Have you ever wanted to try Kintsugi? Learn the magical art of Kintsugi with artist Ema Frost in this new workshop in Gisborne!
It's an ancient Japanese art form where you fix broken pottery with gold, making its imperfections its beauty. A truly wonderful philosophy to live by. Nothing is ever really broken but new life and meaning is brought back making your piece a work of art and truly something special.
This traditional Japanese art uses a precious metal – liquid gold, liquid silver or lacquer dusted with powdered gold – to bring together the pieces of a broken pottery item and at the same time enhance the breaks.
By the end of the class, you will take away your wonderful finished work, plus your new skills which will enable you to further your own Kintsugi in your own time.
What you'll get
  • A finished artwork piece
  • An understanding of Kintsugi
  • Knowledge and history of this beautiful art form

What to bring
You can bring along a piece of your pottery to restore in this beautiful style. We'll also have a few as backup if you don't have your own piece.
