This class will provide you with a little of the history of Zentangle®, introduce you to the basic steps of the method, and expose you to the associated vocabulary and tools. You will create one piece of art with beginning tangles and leave with a clear understanding that "Anything is possible one stroke at a time."®
The Zentangle Method is easy to learn, relaxing, and a fun way to create beautiful images using structured patterns. Almost anyone can use it to create art. The method also improves focus and creativity, provides artistic satisfaction along with an increased sense of personal well-being. The Zentangle Method is enjoyed all over the world across a wide range of skills, interests, and ages.
This lesson is designed for all age groups, and it is said often that if you can write your name, you can create art with the Zentangle Method.
Follow along with me to learn this fabulous drawing method and have fun making art. Hopefully, you will be enthused with this art method and keen to give some more complicated projects a try.
Knowledge required
None what so ever.
 
What to bring
Materials Required are at least, good paper to draw on though a 3.5"x3.5" white artist tile would be best. - A black fineliner pen sized 01 to draw with but if all you have is a black pen, that's fine too. - An HB or 2B pencil and something to blend with. - A blending stump, a tortillion or even a cotton bud will suffice.

I wanted to be an artist practically all my life but had lived a very logic-brained existence as a BAS Agent/Bookkeeper amongst similar roles. I ran my own business for sixteen years but lockdowns (in Melbourne) created a very different work life for me. I worked harder than ever because I became a key support for my clients through all the ups and downs of Government assistance. It wore me out. BUT, I discovered the Zentangle® Method early on in 2021 and became obsessed.
I had no formal art training, knew nothing of media or styles and honestly didn't think I had any talent. I could draw a pretty good doodle tree but that was it. Then one day when I was learning how to do bullet journalling, I stumbled on Zentangle® and instantly fell in love. Here was a drawing method I could follow, easily, and wow! I actually created art. I had finally found something that satisfied my creative need and also helped me keep my cool while we battled the Covid phenomenon.
I was so inspired by the community I became part of, I headed off to Newport, Rhode Island in 2023 to become qualified to teach this method. Now I am a Certified Zentangle® Teacher who is very excited to share this incredible art form and method with anyone who will sit still long enough with me to learn.
