Build your signature scent

Build Your Signature Scent

Following our beginner-friendly method, we will help you create your own customised home fragrance. It's like creating a perfume, but easier and quicker!

Play, test, perfect

Play, Test, Perfect

Let's test and see if your combination all works! This is where your vision comes together.

Pour the magic

Pour the Magic

Without all the science, the messy kitchen counters or failed experiments, all you have to worry about is perfecting your candle pour. A slow and steady hand and a feeling of accomplishment!

Put your name on it

Put Your Name on It

Name your candle! You're almost done; it's time to name your piece of art. Let it be anything you can dream it to be!

Sip and slow down

Sip and Slow Down

We brew you a fresh cup of coffee, chai or hot chocolate (complimentary!) and you can have as many as you would like as you wait for your candle to set. The perfect combination.

Tucked away in the heart of Parnell, you will find our intimate candle making workshop. We offer a unique, hands-on experience where you’ll explore the power of scent, nostalgia, and creativity while crafting your own custom scent for a soy wax candle.
Our studio on 165 Parnell Road is perfect for individual bookings or groups of two.
Designed to be fun, interactive, and beginner-friendly—no prior experience needed!
Guided by our expert hosts, you'll:
  • Curate your bespoke scent using premium fragrance oil blends (and your imagination)
  • Create a soy wax container candle in a 120g glass jar
  • Customise your candle with a personalised label
  • Take it home the same day
How it works:
  • Duration: The candle-making process takes up to one hour. Afterward, your candle needs another 1/2 hour to set before pickup.
  • While You Wait: We brew you a fresh coffee, chai or hot chocolate - complimentary on us!
  • Flexible Booking: If our listed times don’t work for you, get in touch—we'll do our best to accommodate. For groups of over 8 people for private events, birthdays, bridal showers, baby showers, and corporate events, we accomodate up to 20 people in our craft cafe. Please note for groups of over 8 an event fee of $150.00 does apply

FAQ

Can I make more than one candle?
Yes! Additional candles can be made for $20 per candle. You can request this on the day.
Will It Get Messy?
We take care of all the messy parts for you, like the wax melting but there is still a small risk of droplets of wax or fragrance oils on your clothes as it is ultimately a creative craft workshop. We recommend bringing an apron or to wear something that you don’t mind getting a bit of wax on it - it doesn’t happen often but just in-case!
How do I book for a private corporate workshop?
For off-site corporate events (up to 40 people) you can contact us to create a custom workshop experience for you. We can host workshops anytime between 10 AM – 9 PM and have successfully hosted memorable workshops for Harbour Grounds, My Food Bag, Douglas Pharmaceuticals, Russell McVeagh and Cotton On Group. Let us make your next work social one to remember!
Location

165 Parnell Road, Parnell, Auckland

  • 5/5 from Lesley Hutchings, attended Oct 2026: The team really enjoyed the candle making workshop. It was fun, relaxed and easy to follow without feeling overwhelming. Phoebe was a great host, friendly, engaging, knowledgeable and her instructions were very clear. The booklet was a great touch too. We’re really happy with our candles and can’t wait to burn them and enjoy the fragrances we chose.
  • 5/5 from Sam Tunley, attended Oct 2026: Had a great time with my first ever candle making experience, will definitely come again!
  • 5/5 from Satveer, attended Sep 2026: I went to the candle making workshop with a really good friend of mine and I had the best time I've had in weeks. The teacher (Phoebe) was so kind and nice and patient with us. She made the vibe of the class really personalized to us and helped us enjoy it alot. The atmosphere was cozy and relaxing and I've needed that for a while. And just for 55 bucks I think thats a steal! Highly recommended!
  • 5/5 from Carol Pito, attended Aug 2026: Fantastic few hours creating our own candles, great opportunity for our team to step outside of our day-to-day work to do something different and creative, thanks for a fab session.
  • 5/5 from Shabreen, attended Aug 2026: A Warm, Whimsical Scent-Crafting Experience! I recently tried out this candle-making kit, and the process was as delightful as the final result. The step-by-step workbook makes blending scents feel like play rather than science, guiding you through setting a vision and training your nose in a really fun, intuitive way.

  • 5/5 from Sachi Wijeyekoon, attended Jul 2026: A friends get together Candle making My teacher was amazing, atmosphere was 10/10 Loved the final product
  • 3/5 from Radhika Patel, attended Jul 2026: Was a very nice environment and interactive. That girl that ran the workshop was lovely and friendly. There were a lot of different scents to choose from. The only thing I can say was the candle was quite small for the price.
  • 5/5 from Vania Truchsess, attended Jun 2026: Loved learning how to make a candle from Pyarr she is knowledgeable and lovely! Would def recommend it was a relaxing experience.
  • 5/5 from Jenny Henderson, attended May 2026: An excellent afternoon for our group of ladies in Auckland for a conference. Haya and her team were so welcoming, everything was ready and organised for us. Taking us through the steps of the candle making experience was so much fun… and very helpful for some of us! One of our group had recently been diagnosed with cancer and was unable to join us for the workshop but her candle had been paid for. Haya’s team made the candle for her and then later in the day, delivered it to our conference venue. It was then presented at a gathering the next day…many tears and appreciation. A very big thank you to Haya and Karigar Lane. Simply the best.
